First – apologies for the weirdness over the previous week. Hackers hit the site December 29, but since the back end was working, I didn’t realize there was a problem until I tried to post Thursday. Fortunately, I had a backup, and with the able help of my very own Tech Support, we are back in business.
But enough about weird people on the internet – today I am firing the confetti cannons to celebrate the release of some brand new books!
Living With Obesity was a difficult book to write. The topic is both scientifically complex and emotionally fraught, and it was challenging to strike the right tone – honest, but empowering. I hope that teens who faces health complications related to their weight will find this book helpful and inspiring.
Living With Scoliosis was difficult for an entirely different reason – my mom had it. I missed her constantly while writing it, and wished she were still here to tell me what developing scoliosis as a teen was actually like. I was also amazed at how little medical knowledge and treatment methods have changed since mom was a kid in the 1960s.
Part of the Living With Health Conditions series for teens, both books are available now through Amazon or direct from ABDO Publishing.
In August, Ashby-BP (publisher of Fox Talk) will release my new animal science book, Fuzzy Forensics: DNA Fingerprinting Gets Wild. More details when we’ve got a cover, hopefully in the next couple months!
That deadline I mentioned Thursday is for another ABDO book that will probably release in August as well. Once the title and pub date are confirmed I will spill all the details, but for now I can reveal that concrete is a major theme. 🙂
So how has 2014 already been awesome for you?
