The Internet = Embarrassing Oneself in Public

October 17, 2013

For everyone who went looking for the ebook edition of Fox Talk and couldn’t find it – first, thank you! Second, I am really sorry.

The ebook was scheduled for release on October 5, but at the last minute, my publisher discovered that some of the really cool features (like video) weren’t supported by older e-reading platforms. This resulted in a scramble to produce back-compatible formats so people with older devices could still access the book (albeit without some of the enhancements).

I was unaware of this, because I was on an airplane, having scheduled the post to run while I was away. Hence the announcement that the ebook was up, when in fact it was not.

I am deeply sorry for the mix-up, but happy to announce that you really can buy the ebook now, through Amazon and Chapters. These versions have pop-up glossary words and quiz questions, but they do NOT support the video format. Make sure you are using the latest versions of the reading apps for proper display.

The version that includes the video will be available through Smashwords and iBooks shortly. If you can’t wait, you can order an epub or pdf directly through the publisher. Tell Mary I sent you, and she’ll hook you up.

Thank you for your support and your patience! I hope the ebook is worth the wait.
