I’ve got a very busy week ahead so today’s post will be brief, and mostly made by other people. Check out this awesome “Band Aid” style video extolling the virtues of PCR (polymerase chain reaction), a method used to copy select pieces of DNA out of an organism’s total genome. Kary Mullis, inventor of the technique, won a Nobel Prize for it, because it revolutionized genetics – and forensics!
And speaking of forensics, I’ve got one more appearance coming up this Wednesday morning at 10:30AM, at the Tantallon branch of the Halifax Public Library. The event will include a reading and experiment kids can try first hand, so come on down!
How’s your week looking? Tell me what you’re up to this “spring” break.
