Reason I Sometimes Miss the Arctic, #8

April 19, 2014

I lived in Yellowknife for a couple of years during junior high, right around the time I got old enough to babysit for people other than my parents. On more than one occasion, I’d sit in the warm car on my snowy driveway with the parent who’d driven me home for a solid 20 minutes while we’d watch the northern lights.

We don’t really get them in Halifax… It’s too far south and often too overcast. Fortunately, as is so often the case, YouTube comes to the rescue! Check out the way the snow changes colour when the lights are strong enough to reflect.

Have you ever seen the northern (or southern!) lights? What did you think?
