INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
dash of vanilla
pinch of salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
DIRECTIONS:
Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and corn syrup, stir well. Add vanilla and salt, and continue stirring until mixture has boiled for about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat, add baking soda, and stir vigorously (the caramel will get poofy and frothy). Pour over a double batch of popcorn and mix immediately.
If you stop at this point, the caramel will stay ooey-gooey. If you like it crunchy, bake it at 350F for about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
