A Good Way to Lose an Hour to the Internet

January 15, 2015

I’m probably a bit behind the curve, but I just discovered this cool (read: incredibly nerdy) online game called Knoword. The program gives you the definition and the first letter and you have to type in the word. With a timer, because otherwise you could just pop over to google and look it up.

This is an excellent semi-educational time waster which will either make you feel much better about your extensive vocabulary or cause you to weep in despair over your atrocious spelling. Either way, good times – check it out!

What about you? How do you get lost in the internet?

  1. I notice it uses British spellings, an added challenge for those of us south of Canada. 🙂

Another fun word game is free rice dot com (close up spaces). Starts with easy words, but the more you get right, the harder it gets. Bonus: they donate grains of rice for every word you get right.

    1. I didn’t even notice the British spellings! Which I suppose makes sense, as here we just call them spellings. 🙂
