Wow, last week, just wow. Between getting up at odd hours to appear on TV and staying up late for writer’s meetings, not to mention the courier misplacing my books not one but several times, causing the nail-biting question of whether they’d actually make it in time for the Friday signing, I am totally beat.
But it all worked out in the end. Even better than working out, it worked out well – several people came to the signing specifically because they’d seen me on TV, which made the odd hours totally worth it.
So, thanks are in order.
First, to Chris Muise at the Bedford-Sackville Observer, for a lovely interview and also buying me tea on a cold fall day.

YAAAY! I’m so glad the week was so awesome. 🙂 Re: books, you must read The Story of Owen: Dragonslayer of Trondheim if you haven’t already, STAT. Do not pass Go. Do not pick up any other books. This one is fantastic. It’s 100% contemporary, except that Dragons are a thing. So maybe that makes it 95% contemporary… And it uses the phrase “dracono-bardic tradition” in context with The Beatles and Lady Gaga, so WIN.
I just read the description online and Owen sounds absolutely hilarious! I will definitely check it out. Robin McKinley has a contemporary fantasy with dragons (called Dragonhaven) that I loved, but she’s not so much with the humour.
